A little peckish on another coastal day trip, not wanting to leave the Fogster in a hot car while we dine.  What to do?  Visit Bonavista Social Club, in Upper Amherst Cove, of course … where the view is splendid and the food … ditto.  Our beloved was allowed to hang out on the patio at our feet, where she was given water (by the attentive waitress) and of course … a few strips of that delicious homemade bread (by us!), while we sipped our lemonade and soup.  Dessert involved partridgeberries and pavlova, after pan-fried cod just the way I like it.  Herbs grown in their own garden, among other produce.  The whale blowing off in the distance (no you can’t see it in the picture … you have to GO there!) was an added treat.  I have a feeling I’ll be doing this again … soon.  Perhaps then it will be their homemade pizza, or a moose burger … the options are making my mouth water.  www.bonavistasocialclub.com
